Last season Palmer finished as the second-highest goal scorer and also the second-highest assist provider in the league. The English international made 45 appearances this season across all competitions, scored 25 goals, and bagged 15 assists in this process for Chelsea, including two hattrick in the Premier League.
This is also the same as Cole Palmer once again making his mark with the Chelsea shirt. Palmer scored six goals and five assists in just seven matches in the Premier League this season, including four goals in one single match against Brighton. The 22-year-old won the Premier League Young Player of the Season award in the last season due to stunning performance. The Chelsea forward is also nominated for the Ballon d’Or award for this year Ballon d’Or. However, Chelsea’s co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley believed that their star player would go on to win that trophy one day in the future.

According to news published by Goal.com, Winstanley said when asked if Cole Palmer can win the Ballon d’Or one day, he said to the Telegraph,
“No doubt he can, no doubt. He’s got a bit of a maverick personality on the pitch, you can see that. You can see it in training, you can see it in the games. He’s got that ability.”
“He showed great desire to come here and that’s the sort of player we want, the personality and the desire to come here.”
After that Stewart added something on this matter and said,
“We didn’t think necessarily that we’d be able to get him here really, did we? There was a feeling that ‘no, Cole Palmer won’t be for sale.”
Chelsea board is very happy with the signing of Cole Palmer and recently Palmer signed a new contract with the Blues which will keep him till 2033. With almost a decade left in his contract, Cole Palmer could definitely become the best player in the world one day.
Chelsea will face Liverpool in the Premier League
Once again Cole Palmer has the chance to come to the spotlight as Chelsea are preparing to face Liverpool in the Premier League in matchday eight. Chelsea are in great form in the Premier League, and so is Liverpool. The Reds are leading the table with 18 points in the first seven matches of the Premier League. On the other hand, The Blues are in the fourth position with 14 points in the first seven matches.
Liverpool are unbeaten in the last six matches in all competitions, conceding only three goals while scoring 16 goals during this process. So, it will be a huge task for Enzo Maresca’s men to overcome Liverpool at Anfield. All eyes will be on Cole Palmer as his performance against Liverpool will be very crucial.
