Chelsea’s search for attacking players continues

According to Chelsea News, despite signing striker Samu Omorodion from Atletico Madrid, Chelsea’s search for more attacking options continue. The Blues are going for a big rebuild this summer after their poor performance last season. Chelsea has been the most active out of all the Premier League clubs in this transfer window. However, we have seen this before and it did not turn out nicely for Chelsea. Last season many Chelsea players were out due to injuries. Senior players like Reece James, Christopher Nkunku were out for majority of the season. This naturally made the manager to give more time to the youngsters.

However, many young players signed by Chelsea could not adapt to the team’s tactics and the Premier League football. Former Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino struggle in integrating all the young players in the squad. Players like Romeo Lavia did not play a single minute of Premier League football last season. Chelsea were lucky that Cole Palmer stepped up last season to save Chelsea. The English youngster almost win the top scorer of the tournament competing with Manchester City’s Erling Haaland. Chelsea will hope that Cole Palmer manages to keep his form from last season this time as well.

Chelsea’s search for attackers despite too many options

It is reported that Chelsea is looking for more attacking options this summer. Chelsea already has a squad of around 45 players. Their attack is already stacked with attackers. On their left flank there is already Mudryk and Raheem Sterling are already playing. Chelsea have now signed Pedro Neto from Wolves for the left wing position as well. The Portuguese winger is a great player with his pace and amazing dribbling skills. However, it is still unknown how Chelsea will be able to integrate so many players in their squad.

During Chelsea’s pre season it was clear this will be a very long season for the Blues. Chelsea managed to win only one game during their pre season. Moreover, the squad looked lost and there was no proper implementation of the tactics. Christopher Nkunku showed some great individual skills in the pre season. The French forward showed Chelsea what they were missing last season. However, Chelsea cannot rely on individual brilliance if they want to compete for trophies next season. Last season, Cole Palmer saved Chelsea for the majority of the season. However, next season things can be different for Chelsea.

Poor transfer business by Chelsea

All football fans expect their clubs to make some big signings in the transfer window. However, Chelsea fans want the authorities to give their club a transfer ban. This is due to the fact that Chelsea is signing and selling players just for profit. There is no long-term project at the club for young players. The club is forcing old players to transfer from the club. The situation of Conor Gallagher is a good example of this scenario. The English midfielder considered Chelsea his boyhood club and has been at the club since he was eight years old.

However, the player was forced to transfer this summer due to his contract running out with the club. Chelsea did not want to sell any of their players on a free transfer. Moreover, Conor Gallagher was arguably one of the best Chelsea players last season. The midfielder played more minutes than any other Chelsea player last season. Even after selling Gallagher, Chelsea did not sign a suitable replacement for the midfielder. Enzo Maresca’s tactics are difficult to watch, and some football fans think the manager will be sacked before Christmas. Chelsea are up for a really long season ahead.
