Chris Sutton believes that dynamic Liverpool forward will only get better with time

Darwin Nunez

Chris Sutton delivers his verdict on one Liverpool superstar after watching him last weekend. Chris believes that Liverpool marksman Darwin Nunez is going to get better and better from here. The Reds defeated Bournemouth 4-0 at Vitality Stadium owing to brace from Nunez and Diogo Jota. Liverpool now stand five points clear on the top. Although the Portuguese deserves praise as well, Sutton believes that the Uruguayan will improve only. He said,

Remember when he first signed and Haaland signed and there was this great debate. Haaland has taken off and Nunez hasn’t taken off, but you feel like he’s getting there and he’s going to get better and better. He took his goals brilliantly, really positive signs for him and for Liverpool.”

Darwin now has 10 goals and 10 assists in all competitions this season so far silencing his critics. Though, he is not finding a consistency in his performances since his move from Benfica. His work rate has never been questioned but the 24-year-old’s hefty price tag brings with it its own pressure. Kopites have remained patient, however, and it was therefore brilliant to see the no. 9 on the scoresheet with two clinical finishes on the south coast. The club management will hope him to continue his run of form in the absence of their talisman Mohammed Salah.

Liverpool will be having a tight run a fixtures with their semi final against Fulham in the Carabao Cup. After this they will face Norwich City in the fourth round of FA Cup and then host Chelsea at Merseyside. Later on they will be travelling to North London to a face-off with Arsenal in the Premier League.
