Christopher Nkunku is currently returning to his top form. But, the Chelsea star could be on the verge of a PSG homecoming. He was brilliant in his days in Germany. So, expectations were very high for the 26-year-old star. But, he would endure a knee injury during pre-season. As a result, he was unable to make his mark in his first campaign in London. As per wikipedia, he would only make 14 appearances, scoring 3 goals last season. But, the Frenchman is coming back to life once again this term. So, we could see him playing regularly very soon.
Christopher Nkunku starring: A sensational start to 24/25
The 26-year-old is doing great this season. Enzo Maresca usually prefers him to start with Chelsea’s B Team. But, despite that, he has been very good for the Blues. In fact, he has already managed to score 8 goals in 12 appearances this season. At the same time, he has also been very impactful coming-off the bench in the Premier League. Recently, he also scored his first goal for the national team. But, as it stands, Christopher Nkunku is not the first-choice striker at the club level. The manager prefers to play Nicolas Jackson instead.
A homecoming on the horizon?
As per goal, the 26-year-old is a PSG academy graduate. He even made his senior debut for the club in 2015. Then, he would go on to spent the next 4 years in Paris. Now, we are finally seeing him getting back to his best. He was absolutely world-class in his RB Leipzig days. A player of his stature needs regular gametime. So, if Chelsea cannot guarantee it, we might see him returning to PSG. In a very recent interview, Christopher Nkunku even made comments about the same. He would say that PSG is a big club and there have been ‘no approaches’ from their side yet. So, there is a chance that he may consider the move if the French champions make an offer.
