Chelsea star Christopher Nkunku has created a new club record. The 27-year-old forward has been in great form this season. Injuries would plague his first season at the club. As a result, he was unable to make his mark at the time. However, he has managed to turn things around this time. He has begun the season in some style. He looks to be getting back to his best and playing at the world-class level he can. Although Nicolas Jackson has still managed to keep him out of the starting XI due to his incredible start too. Nonetheless, the Frenchman has shown his class time and again this campaign.
Christopher Nkunku makes history
The 27-year-old has been in fine goalscoring form. He has been finding the back of the net regularly for the Blues. As per transfermarkt, he has 12 goals in 21 appearances this season. What makes it more impressive that he is not the first-choice starter for Enzo Maresca. Now, the 27-year-old often starts in European games for the club. As a result, Christopher Nkunku has become the first Chelsea player ever to score in 6 consecutive European games. Although his achievement might be slightly diminished from the fact that it’s in the 3rd tier tournament. Nonetheless, it speaks volumes of his consistency at the club.
Chelsea to part ways with the Frenchman?
There were reports surfacing that the 27-year-old is not happy with the amount of game time with the Blues. He has done everything he could to demonstrate that he deserves to be a starter. As it stands, Chelsea may have to actually consider letting Christopher Nkunku go in January. As such, Premier League rivals Manchester United had shown some interest in signing the forward. But given his form in front of goal, letting him leave could cause massive problems for the Blues. It will be interesting to see where does the 27-year-old play next.
