City’s Norwegian striker is on a mission to wreak havoc

It seems that Manchester City forward, Erling Haaland, is on a mission to make new Premier League records. He has already scored two hat-tricks in two consecutive games. Everyone believed that the record for the most hat-tricks in the Premier League was an impossible one for the Norwegian to chase. However, Haaland has made everything seem possible. He scores goals with so much ease. After the match against West Ham, Pep Guardiola labeled Haland as ‘unstoppable‘.

When a world-class manager like Pep says such things about a player, it means something special. The Spaniard has managed some of the greatest strikers in the game. The list includes Robert Lewandowski, David Villa, and Sergio Aguero.

Gradually, Erling Haaland is reaching the standards of these legendary number nines. In terms of goals, some fans have started to imagine he might reach the level of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. The only thing required for the Norwegian to reach such levels is consistency. It is the main trick to reach these huge milestones.

Pep Gurdiola’s reaction to Erling Haaland

Manchester City started their campaign with a massive win against Chelsea. Then, they defeated Ipswich Town with a scoreline of 4-1, where Haaland scored his first hat-trick of the new campaign. It did not take long for the goal-machine to score his second one. In the next match itself, Manchester City faced West Ham and thrashed them with another Haaland hat-trick.

In the post-match press conference after the West Ham clash, reporters asked Pep Guardiola about Haland’s third goal, to which he replied by saying that “no one could stop Haaland even with a gun“.

This season, the Norwegian has scored seven goals, whereas other attackers have scored only 3 or 2 goals after playing the same number of matches. Last season, Chelsea star, Cole Palmer, came close to overtaking Haaland in the race for the golden boot.

Since joining Manchester City, Haaland’s career has taken a meteoric rise. We all know that he was scoring for fun in the Bundesliga, but here in Guardiola’s team, he has gained immense consistency. This is the third Premier League season for Haaland, and he has scored 70 goals out of 69 Premier League matches. This stat is simply phenomenal.

Haaland’s reaction

Every football fan must be thinking that the Manchester City forward must be overexcited with his achievement, but this is partially true. According to ESPN, the Norwegian is feeling good, and he is hungry for even more goals. He said that he got some rest during the long vacation and has prepared well for the season.

Man City’s answer

Despite selling a player like Julian Alvarez, City are still looking unstoppable. There were reportedly several reasons why the club decided to sell the talented Argentine. First of all, Pep Guardiola sees Erling Haaland as the first-choice striker for his team. This automatically meant that Alvarez would get limited playing time at City. Alvarez is leaving Man City due to a lack of game time. The World Cup winner never wanted to stay off of the pitch for a long time.

As a backup striker, he scored a lot of goals for City. This indicates the huge talent and potential of the Argentine striker.

Despite losing such a talent, the Premier League champions didn’t remain silent, as they secured the signing of the Brazilian right winger, Savinho, from ESTAC Troyes. He is a quality addition to Pep Guardiola’s side.

Last season, we saw how Pep exploited the ability of Jeremy Doku on the left wing. On top of that, they have a goal machine in the number nine position as well.

It is being said that Savinho will be the “next Riyad Mahrez”. On top of that, they have also signed Maxime Peronne as a backup to Rodri. These new signings indicate that the loss of Alvarez will not affect Pep’s team.

Previously, the Cityzens have made some major mistakes by selling players like Cole Palmer, Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus, and Zinchenko to their arch-rivals. These players came back to haunt Man City. However, with Alvarez leaving the country all together, it is expected that the same might now happen in case of the Argentine.
