Corentin Tolisso Opens Up On Future

tennis player

Corentin Tolisso recently gave a candid interview to the French magazine L’Equipe. The French midfielder talked about his future and his struggles with injury.

Tolisso has come to the end of his contract with Bayern Munich. Bought for 41 million from French club Lyon, Tolisso has represented the Bavarian giants 72 times in the Bundesliga. He has been a decent player for them, but injuries have severely hampered his progress. Furthermore, the rise of Leon Goretzka’s and Joshua Kimmich’s formidable partnership in the centre of the park has limited Tolisso’s minutes.

Despite this, the Frenchman is a talented player. His ability is recognized by many clubs in the world. Several clubs, notably Arsenal and Manchester United have made inquiries about his availability. Tolisso himself seems stoked by the idea. He made his admiration for the English League quite evident in his interview.

I would be interested in England, with its intensity, but I’m not ruling out any league.

Indeed, the game in England is played with a certain intensity which is not necessarily present in the other leagues. But Bayern Munich are known for their intensity and high octane pressing. They were elite pressers under Hansi Flick, as they went to win a historic sextuple. Those principles must have surely stayed with Tolisso.

Injury Woes

Tolisso’s injury history may be something which may make potential clubs sceptical. And this is something he understands too. However, he is determined to put these issues behind himself and work toward improving this aspect of his game.

I am convinced that my issues are more psychological than physical. It’s more in my head than with my body. I worked with a mental coach to put words to what I was going through. Now, I’m 5,000% convinced I can get back to a very high level physically. I’m going to do a one-month training period so that I’m ready for the start of next season. I know what I’m capable of. I know to what point a change in my life and in my surroundings will do me good

Tolliso’s Future

It will be interesting to see where Tolisso finally ends up. As a player, he is too good to play a peripheral role in a team. If he can overcome his physical problems, he can be quite a player for anyone who signs him
