Cristiano Ronaldo deals a major blow to former Chelsea and Inter star

Cristiano Ronaldo has dealt a major blow to Hernan Crespo. The former Chelsea and Inter man ended up suffering big time due to the Portuguese. The winger led his side Al-Nassr in their latest AFC Champions League game. They were playing host to Al Ain. This was an important game to win for them to maintain their pursuit of the knockout stages. The home side did a great job. They would emerge victorious by a 5-1 score line. As a result, they now stand 3rd in their group. Al-Nassr will be keen to go all the way this season. Especially after having lost most of the major trophies last time.

How did the match unfold?

Hernan Crespo was managing Al Ain as Cristiano Ronaldo would storm the visitors. Anderson Talisca would open the scoring within 5 minutes. The 39-year-old found the back of the net on the half-hour mark to double the home side’s advantage. Then, they would be on a more comfortable side courtesy of an own goal by the opposition. The away team did manage to score. But even that was an own goal. Wesley would crush their hopes of taking something away by scoring in the final 10 minutes. Soon, Talisca would score his second and Al-Nassr ran riot in the game as they won 5-1.

Cristiano Ronaldo performance leads to Hernan Crespo sacking

As per goal, Al Ain were enduring a poor run of form. They ended up losing 4 games in-a-row. At the same time, they would concede 14 goals over the course of these games. As a result, the management would decide to take strict action. So Cristiano Ronaldo and his side winning would make them fire Head Coach Hernan Crespo from the club. The former Chelsea and Inter man did have a positive start with Al Ain. He would lead them to their 2nd ever ACL title. But the inconsistent performances and poor run of form this season would eventually lead into his downfall.
