Chelsea are filling up gaps in the current squad, bringing in new players in this summer transfer window. That leaves the question of a few players and some of them might end up leaving the Blues this summer. One such player is Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah, who could leave Stamford Bridge this summer. Lots of speculations are currently going on about the future of 25-year-olds. Currently, he is available in the transfer market after Chelsea put him on the transfer status. Chelsea will demand at least 25M for Trevoh Chalobah if any clubs approach them.
Will Trevoh Chalobah leave Chelsea this summer?
Crystal Palace is one of the teams that are showing interest in signing Trevoh Chalobah in this summer transfer window. At the start of the season, Palace brought in Oliver Glasner as their new head coach. Till now the new manager only faces three defeats within 14 matches in charge. But the club wants to strengthen their squad further before the start of the next season. Palace already signed three new players this summer including Chadi Riad, Daichi Kamada, and Ismaila Sarr. Palace is currently focusing on pursuing Trevoh Chalobah as their target.
If Newcastle ends up signing Marc Guéhi, so a new defender will be needed for Palace. So, they are chasing Chalobah of Chelsea. Palace star defender and English international Marc Guéhi is likely to leave the club this summer. After his stunning performance in the last season, many clubs are linked with him for a possible move. Newcastle are trying hard to get him to strengthen the defensive line further. Recently, the Palace rejected a 50M offer from Newcastle. However, Newcastle is very much determined to sign him this summer and could go up to a transfer fee of 65M for the English international.
So, Trevoh Chalobah’s move to Selhurst Park will be perfect for Palace. This transfer makes sense also. Chalobah only made 17 appearances for the Blues last season, as the 25-year-old found it hard to get sufficient playing time under Mauricio Pochettino. Though new manager Enzo Maresca took charge of Chelsea, it still looks like Trevoh Chalobah will hard to get more playing time. So, moving to Crystal Palace will be good for Trevoh Chalobah. As Chelsea already spent more than 150M in this summer transfer window, the Blues want to sell homegrown players to generate more money. Chalobah is a Chelsea graduate, so the club is trying to sell him in this summer transfer window.
