Daniel Ricciardo has intently shown interest in joining Alpine F1 for the 2023 Formula 1 season.

Daniel Ricciardo has lost his McLaren seat following poor performances with the team. Ricciardo announced in a video that, he had mutually agreed with the team to part ways.

He will be leaving the team after 2022 ending his contract one year before it was meant to.

So, Ricciardo doesn’t have a drive for the 2023 season. On the other hand, Alpine has also lost its two drivers amid the Alpine-Piastri-McLaren saga.

Although, the team is adamant that, it will make Piastri drive in 2023 however, it seems that Piastri might be ending with McLaren only.

“Yes,” Ricciardo told Sky when asked if he was interested in rejoining Alpine.

“I don’t know how else to say that. I’d say, if it’s right.”

Daniel Ricciardo has driven for Alpine back in 2019 for a couple of years when the team was called Renault. He left the team for McLaren in 2021.

“I think how it ended, yes.

“It was a little bit awkward for a bit, but once we were racing and had the year we had I think everyone saw I was dedicated to make the most of that year.

“We’ll see what feels right, and is right but it’s purely going to be on where I feel I an be the most competitive.

“I want to get back to winning, I want to get back to fighting for podiums and wins.

“That’s what gives me the most happiness.

“One thing that has remained unchanged for me is I’ve never wanted to be a driver just to be on the grid.

“Of course I love this sport and I love everything that comes with it. But at this point in my career is just about winning.

It is believed that their relationship (Ricciardo and Renault) ended on good terms and a comeback might be possible.
