Chelsea have entered the race to sign Las Palmas midfielder Dario Essugo. After another club fancied him—but he’s not too ready to move just yet. The Blues are also interested in him. Alongside Real Madrid. which also showed interest in the young talent earlier this month.
Currently on loan Sporting Lisbon star Essugo has starred in Spanish La Liga this season. His performances have been impressive. His game has caught the eye of several top European clubs who will lay siege to his game.
Arriving on loan to Las Palmas at the start of the season. Essugo quickly made himself a key man under manager Diego Martinez. His age does not deny that he is a complete package on the ball. With his composure, technical skills, and even tactical understanding. Essugo has been a big part of why Las Palmas has been playing well this season.
Impressive displays from the youngster haven’t gone unnoticed. Earlier this month he was linked with a move to Real Madrid, the first big club with a keen interest in him. Now Chelsea has joined the race. With figures from after that Leeds United were interested in the midfielder. Essugo’s growing reputation across Europe also features high in the competition for his signature.
What makes Essugo so attractive to potential buyers is his quite reasonable release clause, standing at €60 million. For clubs like Chelsea, this fee is nothing, and for a player with such potential it is easily affordable. But the questions raised are about Essugo finding space in the plans of each team.
Essugo certainly looks to be a nomad, with Real Madrid and Chelsea at odds over how he would fit into their respective squads. It helps to further complicate the case.
Dario Essugo on the wishlist of Chelsea and Madrid
As Essugo goes on to their project I shall have great interest in seeing which club can convince this lad that theirs is the best fit for him.
Essugo’s parent club Sporting Lisbon keeps a close eye on his development at Las Palmas. They had initially intended to reintegrate him back into the squad next season, but growing interest from European giants may result in a different approach.
Essugo is still only 21, and Sporting Lisbon may be tempted to cash in on his market value while it’s at its highest or decide to offer him a new contract to try and tempt him to stay.
Essugo now focuses on doing well for Las Palmas for now. He knows they have bigger goals this season and wants to continue to improve weekly for them. Essugo will hope the transfer speculation is a distraction, but if he is, so far so good as he does not sound distracted from his football.
Another sporting player on rise
Dario Essugo is a young player with a lot in his future. He’s got all the attributes to be a top-class midfielder and the interest from top European clubs is a reflection of his talent. Terms between the club and Oxlade Chamberlain mean the next few months will be vital in deciding his future as he chooses which club will work best for him.
Essugo’s future has been discussed by several football experts. ‘Essugo is a very talented young player with lots of potential,’ added one pundit. He has a pretty decent range of passing, he’s comfortable on the ball.
‘To be honest, Essugo is still raw – but he doesn’t lack the tools to make it to the very top of world darts.’ He’s got to continue to work on his game.
Author’s Opinion
In my view, Essugo would be a major step up if he is transferred to Chelsea or Real Madrid. He would also get the chance to play alongside some of the best players in the world and>, to learn from the best coaches in the world.
The next few months will be an exciting time for Dario Essugo. He has a big decision to make about his future, as several top clubs are interested in him. No matter the club he goes to he has the potential to be a star.
For Dario Essugo, he is a young midfielder with a very bright future ahead of him. Some of Europe’s biggest clubs have taken notice of his impressive performances this season. Essugo will try to decide what to do in the coming months. He will be a success story with his talent and potential.
