Do you know why the police arrested Yuvraj Singh?

Cricket

Yuvraj Singh, a former India all-rounder, was detained in Haryana’s Hisar district last year for making casteist statements towards leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. Advocate Rajat Kalsan, according to reports, has been battling this protracted battle since filing a FIR under the SC-ST Act in police station, Hansi city.

The trouble started in June last year, when Yuvraj Singh made disparaging comments about Chahal, albeit jokingly, during an Instagram Live session with Indian opener Rohit Sharma.

While talking to Rohit Sharma about Chahal’s infamous Tik-Tok and Instagram videos. Singh made obscene remarks in a nature which was racist and targeted the RCB leggie.

Yuvraj Singh got the bail

In February of 2021, police filed a FIR against the six-sixes-in-an-over- all-rounder under sections 153, 153A, 295, and 505 of the Indian Penal Code. And as well as some sections under the SC/ST Act.

Yuvraj Singh was arrested for most punitive comments. But he was soon released by order of the High Court. And he was also released on official bail afterwards. Even if the question is expected to last a long time.

When his remark went viral on the internet. It sparked outrage, forcing Yuvraj Singh to issue a apologies in public claiming that he had been “misunderstood.”

Yuvraj Singh tried to clear the misunderstanding on his social media. He stated in his post saying- This is to clarify I have never believed in any kind of disparity, be it on the basis of caste, color, creed or gender. I have given and continue to spend my life for the welfare of people. I believe in the dignity of life and respect each individual without exception.

He didn’t mean to hurt anyone’s feeling. But he also said that he regret that he didn’t think regarding the right words.

Meanwhile, Yuzvender Chahal completed the UAE leg of the IPL 2021. He bounced back in the UAE after a dismal first half of the season. Possibly that was the reason for Chahal that left him out of India’s T20 World Cup squad. Though, he took at least one wicket in every game for RCB in the second half and won matches for the team.

He finished the season with 18 wickets and, despite impressing, could not find a place in the India team.
