Manchester United want to sell Donny van de Beek in January according to multiple reports.

The midfielder joined United from Ajax in August 2020 for a reputed cost of £35 million. But he has failed to find a regular position in the club.

Donny Van de Beek has only appeared in six Premier League games this season. While his only two starts came against Young Boys in the Champions League. As well as against West Ham United in the EFL Cup.

Manchester United has batted down rumours that Donny van de Beek was a summer target for Everton. Despite speculation, while acknowledging the player’s complaints.

After the strain of Financial Fair Play. Everton was obliged to keep their wallets in their pockets throughout the transfer window. Despite their prior free-spending style.

According to El Nacional, Barcelona is eager to sign van de Beek. And Manchester United is eager to talk with the Catalan club. Albeit the two are far apart in terms of the sort of transaction they want to accomplish.

United wants to recuperate as much of the £35 million they spent to Ajax as possible, but Barcelona is now in dire financial straits and would prefer to settle for a loan for the time being.

Donny Van de Beek hasn’t Got The Best Of Hands Against Manchester United

At least €25m (£21.1m) for Van de Beek is what The Red Devils want to guarantee. As well as a purchase after any loan deal is completed by negotiating a contractual obligation. But a financially troubled Barcelona do not currently have the cash available.

According to the report, all parties are interested; however, United is at odds with Barcelona on the presence of an obligation to purchase in any agreement; nevertheless, if they take the risk and remove that requirement, the transfer may be accomplished.

United have complete control because van de Beek is under contract until 2025, which means they can hang out and wait for future bids for the Dutchman if they choose, but it may be preferable to break ways and move on from the failed transfer.

The 24-year-old was part of Ajax’s golden generation, which saw the Dutch club almost reach the Champions League final in 2019, and several of its brilliant teenagers were scooped up by Europe’s best the following season.
