Dusan Vlahovic: A missed opportunity

Arsenal seems to have avoided Dusan Vlahovic. The Juventus‘ forward has been struggling for quite sometime.

DUSAN VLAHOVIC AVOIDED?

Arsenal seems to be ending this winter transfer without a striker. There has been so many rumors lately. Players like Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard admitted the shortness of the club.

It can be seen that many potential targets have been missed by the club. Juve’s Vlahovic appears to be in the list. Links were there many times on many players. But, none of them really came to a decision.

Vlahovic was linked to the Gunners since 2022. Vlahović’s tenure at Juventus has been mixed. He showcased his talent by scoring in his debut and achieving notable milestones. But, his overall impact has been inconsistent. In contrast, Arsenal’s decision to invest in players who align with their tactical vision has paid dividends.

So, Arsenal is scared of a high-signing inconsistency. They had been criticized before for high-profile signings. Additionally to the financial commitment, the Serbian’s inconsistency kept Arsenal out of the radar.

Overall, Arsenal don’t want to make mistakes. Their experience hadn’t been very kind to them. Moreover, Juventus signed Randal Kolo Muani on loan from PSG. The Old Lady took the initiative to move on the player and are being rewarded, at least in the short term.

AUTHOR’S OPINION

Arsenal could have signed Vlahovic. That’s a question which has both yes and no. It seems deeper tha it actually is. But avoiding one of the best European strikers right now could be lethal for Arsenal.

Moreover, £310,000 per week seemed like too much for a player who seems inconsistent. His valuation might have been the stoppage point for the Gunners. They have to be diligent in their next signings, if they can any.

Comment down your thoughts on Dusan Vlahovic, was Arsenal right avoiding him?
