England will play their next match against the Netherlands in the Euro 2024 semifinal. England beat Switzerland on the penalties to secure their spot in the semifinal of the tournament while the Netherlands knocked down Turkey to reach the tournament semifinal.

Southgate men are hoping for consecutive euro finals when England meets the Netherlands. Although last time the three Lions failed to become victorious before losing to Italy in the final on the penalties. This time the England squad is pretty confident and hoping to secure the title.

On the other hand, the Netherlands is hoping for their first-ever Euro final since 1988, the same year when the Dutch side eventually went on to win the tournament for the very fast time and also the only time.

Previously these two sides have met 22 times and the Netherlands had a good result compared to England in all their previous meetings.

Koeman’s men are keen to break the deadlock first, as the Netherlands scored both the opening goals in their previous two outings. So, the team will be hoping for the same.

But England is ready to answer all the criticism going on against the team’s performance and wants to achieve the ultimate glory, which they failed last time around with Italy.

England defender Luke Shaw answered all the criticism against England manager Southgate and said,

โ€œI donโ€™t really understand the criticism. What heโ€™s done for the country, for us as players as well, he really took us to the next level … Iโ€™ve got a lot to thank him for because he showed a lot of faith and trust in picking me when he didnโ€™t have to.โ€

Alessia Russo, a member of the England women’s team, also gives praise to Southgate’s side for their semifinal match.

News on the lineup for the England vs Netherlands match

The England camp is quite concerned about the fitness of the nation’s top goalscorer and captain of the side Harry Kane. So, will Southgate keep the former Spurs man in the team or bring any other striker for Kane’s position?

Another question is the backline for the three lions. Southgate went with a 3-4-2-1 formation in the last match against Switzerland. So the three Lions used three defenders for the first time in this tournament. So, will Southgate change this and use the previous four-defender formation or stick to his latest formation, still questionable. Well, the answer will come tonight.

On the other hand, the Netherlands will keep their starting lineup the same that they used in the last two matches against Romania and Turkey. As the team is providing positive results, it seems likely that Koeman will go with the same team once again.
