England may have some changes ahead of the third Test after losing the Lord’s Test against India. England head coach and selector Chris Silverwood dropped Dom Sibley and Jack Crowley. He has returned David Malan and Saqib Mahmood for the third Test.

However, Dawid Malan has played 15 Tests so far. He hasn’t even played many first-class matches in recent times.

On the other hand, Shakib Mahmud is an unveiled player in Test cricket. He was included in the squad for the preliminary Test but was dropped after James Anderson was deemed fit to play. Saqib’s Test debut is likely, as Mark Wood’s position remains questionable.

England brought Malan, Livingstone and Saqib

While England is expected to make just a few changes to the playing XI, Dawid Malan, Liam Livingstone, and Harry Brook have been included in the squad.

Liam Livingstone has been in good form since the start of the white ball season. He has also scored a century against Pakistan recently. However, he is not considered a red ball expert. In such a situation, it is not possible to call him in the Test team.

Brooke of Yorkshire is part of the Northern Supercharger in ‘The Hundred’ and an unveiled player. He has played 43 first-class matches. He made his debut against Pakistan A in 2016.

As far as Malan is concerned, he could be included in the playing XI if the management changes the middle order. The third Test between India and England will be played in Leeds from August 25 to August 29.

Possible England XI – Haseeb Hameed, Dawid Malan, Joe Root (captain), Johnny Bairstow, Harry Brook, Jos Butler, Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, Oli Robinson, Saqib Mahmood, James Anderson.
