Enzo Maresca was quick to heap praise on 23-year-old Chelsea winger. Mykhailo Mudryk is struggling at the current time. Also, he has been a subject to a lot of criticism from the fans. His time in London has been full of ups and downs. The winger has not lived up to the expectations at the Stamford Bridge. Quite recently, he was in the spotlight for a wrong reason again. The 23-year-old was attending an Arsenal game in the UCL. The Gunners were facing Shakhtar Donetsk, Mudryk’s former club. Many fans would urge the Ukranian to ‘stay there’ owing to his poor time at the club.
Enzo Maresca backs the winger
Chelsea manager was patient with the winger from the very beginning. He wanted to give the 23-year-old his time and space to improve and grow. There were rumors of Mykhailo Mudryk leaving in January. But if he plays like he did against Panathinaikos, that won’t be happening for sure. As per sportskeeda, manager Enzo Maresca was quick to hail the winger after his performance in the UECL. The 23-year-old also managed to find the back of the net as his side won 4-1. The winger would also reciprocate by celebrating his goal with the manager.
What went wrong with Mudryk?
The Ukrainian is not a complete forward yet. He has a good amount of pace. But he loses possession often. So he needs to work on his dribbling and control on the ball. When you lose the ball, your confidence is hurt. And as a ball-carrier, if you are not confident you are going to lose possession often. Enzo Maresca understands this and he gave Mudryk another chance. If the 23-year-old plays with confidence and composure, he will be an asset for the team. He could launch counter attacks. At the same time, also help his team pressing up front.
