Ten Hag praised Sancho performance against Southampton

Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag praises Sancho after the 0:0 draw against Southampton.

Ten Hag played Sancho as an attacking midfielder alongside Bruno Fernandes, with Casemiro protecting the midfield behind. However, this game plan backfired when Casemiro was sent off in the first half. Sancho played for 74 minutes before getting substituted.

When reporters asks Ten Hag in the press conference if he was happy with Sancho’s performance. The Manchester United manager responded:-

“Yes, I think he did quite well. Some really good actions, one time he was really close to a goal, a run behind the defensive line, a cross from Bruno almost came there.

“He did a really good job. I think he can make the difference. Its not bad when you have Casemiro, Bruno and Jadon Sancho.”

The experimental midfield trio looked good on paper, however, this first venture was cut short by Casemiro’s sent-off. The 23-year-old had a mixed game against Southampton, however, he struggled to make an impact, with no chances created and zero shots at the goal. United Supporters expect much more from the 22-year-old attacker. Since returning from injury, Sancho has not completed the full 90 minutes.

Sancho needs to play the full 90 minutes to show his real class and skill set and Ten Hag needs to get the best out of him. Although, Sancho not playing the full game can raise questions about his future and managers believe in the player looks dull.

Jadon needs to resurrect his career as he holds great potential and has all the attributes to become a world-class player.
