Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag wants to have contract talks with forward Marcus Rashford after the World Cup.
Marcus Rashford has regained his form in Qatar, he has scored three goals for England and is at joint top of the Golden Boot standings. Even though he only started one game for the Three Lions.
Seeing his form back United would be keen to keep him, who as of now is free to talk with foreign clubs in January.
According to a report from The Athletic, United wants Rashford’s future to be sorted out after the World Cup. Ten Hag personally wants to have a conversation with him after the World Cup ends.
Ten Hag keen to talk with Rashford
The reports also suggest that talks with Rashford are on the top of the to-do list of Ten Hag. He is keen to talk with the forward when he returns from the action of the tournament.
The reports also suggest that United need to decide whether they can reach an agreement for the new contract between now or during January.
If not then they would be looking to activate the 12-month option in his current deal first to release the pressure of contract renewal. Rashford feels more confident and valued under the Dutch boss.
It would be interesting to see if Rashford starts against Senegal with Gareth Southgate having many options.
But Rashford is most dangerous in all of them when in form, his pace is something that excludes him from others in the squad.
