Estevao, ahead of his Chelsea move matches Neymar record

Ahead of his move to Chelsea, Estevao has hit the Brazilian media headlines after breaking Neymar’s record.

Before joining Chelsea, Estevao breaks Neymar’s record

The teenager will be joining the Blues in the summer. He continues to be in top form in Brazil. He is preparing to move to Stamford Bridge for a fee around £51 million.

The Brazilian youngster scored his fifth goal in 2025 last weekend. He scored a great goal from outside of the box. After holding his opponent at his back and hit a powerful shot right into the top corner. His team beat Sao Bernardo 3-0 at the Campeonato Paulista.

The attacker scored two goals in that game. He was on the field for almost 82 minutes. That first wonder goal grabbed the headlines in Brazil. He has been in the news since reports of him playing in England surfaced.

The Playoffs underlined that he has managed to score 30 goals. He has broke Neymar’s record for becoming the first Brazilian player to score 30 goals before turning 18 years old. Tribuna described his wonderful goal as ‘a thing of beauty’.

Estevao is ready to move in at Chelsea

Estevao Willian is regarded as one of Brazil’s top up-and-coming stars. To suggest that he is superior to Santos wouldn’t be cruel. With impressive Serie A performances at Palmeiras, he has already tied Neymar’s records. The teenager is already one of the continent of South America’s most gifted attackers.

He is only 17 years old, hence he is unable to formally join Chelsea. Next month, he will turn eighteen. It is likely that he will join the English team as soon as possible. We’ll see what he does next.

Throughout the season, he set numerous records. However, breaking Neymar’s record in the domestic league in Brazil has drawn media attention. Additionally, he was younger than Neymar when he achieved this feat.

Without a major battle, Chelsea was able to get the young player ahead of time. The total amount of the fee paid was around £51 million. For a teenager, that is a hefty sum, but they believe it will work out for them.

Palmeiras coach on the young Brazilian sensation

Palmeiras head coach Abel Ferreira spoke to the reporters on Saturday night. He said: “We had Estevao at his best level, in two or three finishes he scored two great goals and he could have scored more by the way.

“You like to talk a lot about individuals, when it is part of the collective spirit of the team… You saw him make a tackle to come and help [Marcos] Rocha defend. That’s why they [Chelsea] paid €60 or €70m for him.”

The 17-year-old even got praised by the opposition team in their game against Sao Bernardo. Sao Bernardo head coach Ricardo Catala said: “It is very difficult to mark players like Estevao or create a specific strategy for him, because he is a top talent.

“What we have to do is what we have been trying to do since the first day of pre-season – to be a compact team, an organised team, to be close to each other, to work very actively in the game, so that we can minimise the threats that a player like this can have, knowing that in any moment he can decide the game.”

Author’s Opinion

Estevao will be joining the Blues team in the coming months. Enzo Maresca will surely have a headache to workout things with a lot of young and talented players, which is always a good thing to have.
