Everton are open to make a move for Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek. Van de Beek has found it difficult to break into the first team since joining Manchester United. Donny was a vital player at Ajax and their recent success.

According to Metro, Donny van de Beek was close to making a move to Merseyside team Everton. The Toffees wanted to bring the Dutch midfielder to Goodison Park. In the report, Donny reveals how close his move to Everton was. Since Donny was not able to break into the first team at Manchester United his agent started looking for other options. Meanwhile, Everton emerged as the favorites to sign the player.

But Donny’s move to Everton was blocked by Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær.  Guido Albers Donny’s agent said that ‘We had conversations with Solskjær and the board’. Solskjær stressed enough that the 24-year-old is a big part of his plans and a transfer is out of the question.

Moreover, Donny van de Beek himself revealed that Ole Gunnar Solskjær was very positive of him. But, again this season Van de Beek has found it difficult to find game time. Ole Gunnar Solskjær prefers playing Fred and McTominay ahead of him.

Everton de Beek, Six Sports

Since James Rodriguez has left Everton to join Qatar Stars League club Al-Rayyan. Everton are looking for his replacement. They are keen on finding a number ’10’. Donny van de Beek played in the same opposition at Ajax and was very successful in getting in front of the goal and scoring goals.

If Van de Beek move fails who will Everton sign?

Everton are very desperate to sign a new midfielder. Donny van de Beek is a top target for Everton. But, they have another name on the list and it’s Newcastle United’s, Sean Longstaff. But Donny van de Beek is a much better player than Longstaff. Donny has the quality to fin pockets of space and get himself in dangerous positions to score goals.

Donny played in United’s recent Carabao Cup fixture against West Ham. Unfortunately United lost the game but Donny was very bright through the match. United play Aston Villa next in the Premier League. It seems like a lot of questions will be answered about Donny’s future.
