Premier League side Everton just completed the signing of Senegalese striker Iliman Ndiaye from French club Marseille. The Toffees are looking for some reinforcement before the start of the new Premier League season and are looking for a new striker. So, Ndiaye joined the Toffees to fill the striker position for Everton. So, the 24-year-old will be the second signing for the Toffees after Tim Iroegbunam’s signing from Aston Villa last month.
Iliman Ndiaye joined the French side Marseille last season from Championship side Sheffield United in 2023. The Senegalese had an outstanding final season with Sheffield before joining the French side.
Although Ndiaye had a remarkable season with Sheffield United, scoring 15 goals and assisting 11 times in 52 matches for the club, the French league does not suit him well. The 24-year-old only had 7 goal contributions in 46 matches for Marseille last season. But Everton is delighted to sign Iliman Ndiaye and very optimistic about his future at the club as the Senegalese had already played in England.
Everton boss Sean Dyche on the signing of Iliman Ndiaye
According to Eurosport, Everton boss Sean Dyche is delighted with the signing of Iliman Ndiaye and very much optimistic about his future with the club. He said,
“Iliman adds versatility to our attacking options and strengthens our forward line as we look to build on the progress we made as a team last season in terms of chances created. “He is still young but has experience at European and international level and we feel he will be a really positive addition to our squad.”
Meanwhile, Iliman Ndiaye is also delighted to join Everton and hoping for a good start with the toffees. In Evertontv the 24-year-old expressed his feelings about the transfer and said,
“I am so pleased to be an Everton player. The main reasons I wanted to join were how big the club is, its history, and the part I can play in helping the team in the forward direction it is going in. I’m so excited and can’t wait to get going.”
Not just the manager Sean Dyche, the toffees Director of Football Kevin Thelwell is also very excited about the new signing and hoping that Ndiaye will be a perfect player for the club for the upcoming season.
Transfer details of Iliman Ndiaye
Iliman Ndiaye joined Everton on a five-year contract with a transfer fee of about 15M. Ndiaye is the second player that Everton signed this season to strengthen the attacking option. The club finished 15th in the table last season, scoring only 40 goals in the season. So, the club finished as the second-lowest goal-scoring side behind relegation side Sheffield United. Sean Dyche’s side is hoping to change the scenario and this signing is very important for the toffees.
