Everton player rating : Everton are in real danger of dropping to the Championship as they sit 18th in the table after losing to Liverpool. However, Everton showed some resilience against their local rivals.
They kept Liverpool quiet for the first 45 minutes at the Anfield. But it all crumbled in the second-half as they conceded twice. Andy Robertson and Divock Origi were the netters for Liverpool. On the other hand, Frank Lampard was left fuming as Everton were denied a couple of penalty reviews. Rating for every Everton player is here.
Liverpool endured a frustrated first-half as they failed to break the deadlock. But their pressing was finally rewarded with Andy Robertson opening the scoring. Salah and Origi combine quickly on the left for the Egyptian to flick a cross to second post. Robertson was free there waiting to pounce on and score. Origi then made it 2 after Luis Diaz’s overhead kick bounced off the ground helping the Belgian to score in an open net.
Everton player rating: Defence
Jordan Pickford- 6/10
Solid in he first half, but couldn’t have done much for both the goals.
Seamus Coleman- 6/10
Coleman did his bit in keeping up with the Liverpool attacks. Kept Jota quiet, but troubled by Diaz.
Mason Holgate- 5/10
Fought toe to toe with Liverpool attackers in the first-half. Aerially came in good with clearing the threatening crosses.
Michael Keane- 6/10
Keane replaced Godfrey in the last minute who injured himself in the warm-up. Shrugged-off his string of poor displays with a solid one here. Won every duel he contested and further racked up 13 clearances.
Vitalii Mykolenko- 7/10
Managed the most number of touched among any other Toffees player. Moreover, was equally good against Mohamed Salah.
Midfield
Abdoulaye Doucoure- 6/10
His challenge on Fabinho broke out a massive brawl. However, kept his cool throughout the rest of the game.
Allan- 3/10
Absolute shambles. Only two accurate passes, that too came from the kick-off itself. Failed to channel his aggression and poor messed up in the Everton box couple of times. Lowest rating for any Everton player.
Alex Iwobi- 5/10
Should have scored in the second half but failed to connect with the cross. Constantly ran trying to make things happen.
Attack
Demarai Gray- 5/10
Good three shots in the game, but nothing offered other than that.
Richarlison- 4/10
A disgraceful performance. Too many antics for winning fouls which were rightly ignored by the ref as well. Should have done more with relegation battle on the line.
Anthony Gordon- 7/10
Proved to be a menace for Alexander-Arnold. Clearly won the battle against the Liverpool star, but his unnecessary dive earned him a booking. However, showcased his pace on the counter-attacks. Ties Mykolenko for highest rating among any Everton player.
Substitutes
Dele Alli- 5/10
Came-on for Allan in the 73rd minute. Managed to create a chance in his 17 minutes.
Salomon Rondon- N/A
Came-on for Gray in the 77th minute.
