Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin could be parting ways with Goodison Park soon! The striker has bagged 68 G/A in 212 appearances for the Toffees in the Premier League.
Although plagued by injury, Calvert-Lewin is a player to watch when fully-fit. The 27-year old has a lot left in the tank and could be entering his prime very soon. The striker’s contract is set to expire so Everton will be hoping to make the most of Calvert-Lewin’s exit by cashing in on him as much as they could.
Everton struggling financially: Calvert-Lewin and teammates on their way out?
Things have been quite frustrating for Everton with the takeover of 777 Partners almost on the verge of collapse. It is a challenging time for both the club and its fans. Sean Dyche’s hands would be tied behind his back this summer transfer window.
The Toffees’ financial struggles means that only way Everton could afford players is by selling some of their own. With that being said, Michael Keane, Ben Godfrey and Abdoulaye Doucoure are rumored to leave alongside Calvert-Lewin from Everton.
Jarrad Braithwaite and Amadou Onana are heavily linked to leave the club for a considerable sum for Everton.
The Toffees in Tremendous Trouble!
Turning things around from here is not going to be an easy task. Everton already faced point deductions having been found guilty of breaching FFP laws. The Toffees barely managed to fight relegation but came on the brighter side of it.
Bringing players in by having to sell some of your own best players is certainly not an answer. It may reduce debts on some level. However, Sean Dyche may be left with an inexperienced squad with a lot to prove. Needless to say, the impact this policy will have on Everton’s squad depth will be horrendous! Everton will be trying their best to hold on to key players like Calvert-Lewin and if not, then find reasonable replacements for them.
Unless Farhad Mohsiri agrees a deal and there is some flow of capital for investing for Sean Dyche and team, Everton will be hanging on a cliff. Everton fans will be keeping their fingers crossed keenly awaiting positive news from their club.
