Rahul Dravid says ‘Everyone’s trying to produce wickets’

The ongoing test series between India and Australia is led by India by 2-1. In the third test won by Australia, they chased the total with nine wickets left. The Indore pitch is rated ‘poor’ by the ICC. In this Border-Gavaskar Trophy, all the matches have spinning pitches. The Indian coach Rahul  has his word on the pitch.

Rahul Dravid’s words on a spinning pitch

“Everyone’s trying to produce wickets that eventually (produce) results in these games. That’s natural. You would be looking to produce wickets where the ball probably has a little more sway over the bat,”

The stand-in Australian captain reported that India has prepared two wickets for the fourth and final match of the series. However, coach Dravid says he has no idea why one was uncovered. The other was under the rain sheets.

Rahul further added that

“I don’t know why two strips are covered,”

Dravid said.

“I never asked him why he covered the other one. But I don’t know what that was. We’re playing on this one, I have no idea about the other one,”

The final test match is important for the Indian team. As a win, the match can book their place in World Test Championship final. Or else they must wait for the result of the Sri Lanka vs New Zealand test series. If India loses or draws the fourth test against Australia, they need New Zealand to beat Sri Lanka by 2-0 in the two-match test series. Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja are key players for the Indian team.
