Enzo Maresca’s reaction to Chelsea’s loss
It was a not good start for Chelsea under new manager Enzo Maresca. The former Leicester City boss lost two of the last four matches across all competitions. The Blues conceded six goals in the last four matches under the new manager while scoring nine goals including a 6-2 win over Wolves in the Premier League.
Enzo Maresca faced the media after Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat to Servette in the Conference league. He said that Chelsea got chances in the first half but the Blues failed to capitalize on those chances. Maresca also said Chelsea should score three to four goals in the first half. He also talked about the debutant Tyrique George who made his first-team debut with Chelsea. He added,
“I told you yesterday but I was very, very worried about this game because they are tricky games. For them, it’s probably the game of their season. Against us, the pitch is not great, the environment, it’s 30 degrees and I was very worried about the condition of the game.
“On and off the ball, the team was very aggressive. We created four or five chances in the first half and if we score, the game is finished. Then it is football – they score and it’s a boost for them. But in the end, we deserved it, so we are happy.”
