Exclusive: Troy Deeney poises Liverpool to sign this man as the boss – Fans in shock!

Former Watford star Troy Deeney puts forward the idea of one man as the next Liverpool manager. The search for a suitable candidate for Jurgen Klopp’s replacement is still rumbling. Xabi Alonso, a favourite option for Reds, has denied any move in this summer. Hence, a number of other tacticians are now in the mix.

The Reds had a sweet weekend as they beat Brighton in a comeback win of 2-1 to move at the top. It’s set to be an exciting finale to the season as the curtain comes down on Klopp’s terrific nine-year stay at Anfield. While things heat up on the pitch though, the scramble to find the right successor to the German continues off it.

Troy Deeney believes Gary O’Neil is the right man for Liverpool

Names like Roberto De Zerbi, Ruben Amorim and others are being discussed for the role. With just a couple of months left, the tempo of the search is catching a huge boost. Now, Troy Deeney poises Reds to go and sign Bournemouth manager Gary O’Neil. Speaking on TalkSPORT, he said,

“You’re inheriting people who are used to winning, they’re all internationals. It’s a good one but also it can be a real big shoe to fill, so you’ve got to be a certain type of character. I’m going to throw a name at you, I think they need a coach next year more than a manager, so I’m going to say Gary O’Neil.”

The Bournemouth man is doing a pretty decent job, keeping them in the Premier League for yet another season. Moreover, he has some experience of working at Merseyside as well. O’Neil already has an idea of how things work at Liverpool, too. The former Portsmouth midfielder spent around 18 months as assistant manager of the Reds’ U21 team several years ago. An idea for his move cannot be ruled out as he is young, acquainted with the club and hungry to deliver manager.
