According to well reputated journalist Fabrizio Romano, RB Leipzig striker Christopher Nkunku is already waiting to sign his contract for Chelsea.
Reports earlier revealed that the Frenchman has already gone through medical exam for Chelsea in Frankfurt. The 23-years old is now in final stage to sign for Chelsea.
On his column Caught Offiside, Romano wrote :
“It’s important to mention that Chelsea have everything under control, he’s agreed in principle to join, he’s had a medical with Chelsea, and he’s waiting to sign his contract.”
Nkunku extended his contract thus summer with RB Leipzig which expires in the summer of 2026. He has been pretty good with RB Leipzig after joining from Paris Saint Germain. The Frenchman currently has 24 appreances and scored 12 goals till now. He is well known for his versatility and and explosive pace.
Signing Nkunku would help Blues strengthen their attack
Chlesea currently have Pierre-Emerrick Aubameyang as a natural striker. Kavi Havertz has played in the striker position but he is unable to show his true potential considering its not his natural position.
Nkunku would be a perfect profile for the Blues who can thrive in front three along with Pierre-Emerrick Aubameyang and Rahem Sterling.
Chelsea struggled at the start of of the season which lead to the dismissal of Thomas Tuchel. Graham Potter has done pretty good job since arriving. Adding Nkunku to the team, they would really be a threat for other teams in premiere league. Chelsea currently don’t have any consistent goal scorer, the Frenchman could be the one who can do tha job.
