Fabrizio Romano reports on Chelsea‘s growing interest in Dynamo Moscow’s midfielder Arsen Zakharyan. The Blues are looking to add another youngster to their team. The Blues are in talks with the Russian club for the signing of the young midfielder. Due to the government sanctions placed on Russia because of the ongoing war with Ukraine. Despite this setback, the Blues are still the favorites to sign the midfielder.

Fabrizio Romano on Chelsea’s intent on signing Zakharyan

As reported by Romano, Chelsea are building a squad around young players. Zakharyan is one of those players who is expected to play an important role if this deal goes through. Fabrizio Romano commented on the Zakharyan deal:

“I think it’s all right. Talks with Chelsea are underway. But I won’t reveal all the cards.”

Romano claims that the Russian player is pretty high on the list of players that they wish to bring to the club. While talking to Comment Show Zakharyan commented said,

“My agents and my club have told me that a request has come from Chelsea I have directly said my position is that I want to join Chelsea.”

Few clubs are interested in the Russian player but as it stands the player wants to go to Chelsea. The midfielder is a versatile player and can be developed as an offensive player if the manager wants it. With the abilities that the player have, he will definitely be a welcomed addition to Graham Potter’s Chelsea team. It looks like Chelsea are trying to follow Arsenal‘s strategy by signing a number of young players and making a team around them as it will benefit them in the future.
