Reliable football journalist Fabrizio Romano recently revealed that Chelsea star N’Golo Kante’s priority has always been to stay with the European champions. N’Golo Kante’s contract is currently set to run out in June 2023.

The European champions are currently in a really tough spot. The recent sanctions posed by the UK Government on Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich means that the club are not able to negotiate any new contracts with their players. On top of that, the club are banned to make any transfers. While reports suggest that the club takeover will be completed in the next four to six weeks.

The blues have continued to pick up results in the league. The club also does have one foot in the next knockout round of the Champions League. They are also still in the FA Cup. Thomas Tuchel’s side are also on due course to finish in the top four of the Premier League at the end of the season.

Club captain Cesar Azpilicueta, star centre-half Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen are all out of contract in the summer. Reports suggest that Andreas Christensen has already signed a pre-contract with Spanish giants Barcelona. Cesar Azpilicueta is also close to joining the La Liga outfit. Antonio Rudiger has once again been ever consistent in the starting lineup this term. While the German centre-half would prefer to stay with the European champions beyond the season. But with the current situation at the club and the salary demands of the centre-half, a deal is unlikely to be agreed.
