Fekir don’t want a move away to Newcastle United

Newcastle wanted to make a move for the Real Betis footballer Nabil Fekir in the summer transfer window. But it seems that the playmaker doesn’t want a move this summer.

With the arrival of new cash-rich owners, it’s understandable that The Magpies will have a lot of incomings this window. However, one of their prime targets, Fekir, squandered their summer plan as he denied moving away from Betis this term. Still, a busy window awaits Newcastle fans.

PIF will spend a lot as expected but how much remains a question. Though, Newcastle manager Eddie Howe will be able to bring several quality players to add to their ranks. Newcastle had a great winter transfer window in January and wants to use that as a stepping stone to go to the next level.

Newcastle wanted Nabil Fekir

As per reports from The Sunday Mirror, Newcastle United was back in the market to sign Nabil Fekir. The Magpies boss wanted him back in the January transfer window and reportedly lined up £30 million to buy him. But instead, the France international signed a new contract at Betis. That signified Fekir’s denial to move away but the English club still didn’t give up, continuing their chase.

But now they should plan their summer without him as Estadio Deportivo claimed Fekir is looking at the summer window with complete calmness. Fekir is ‘very happy’ at Betis and won’t move until the club push him to. Newcastle has to spill out a humongous amount of cash, around £85 million, which is his release clause. Additionally, they have to convince him with huge wages for him to sign.

The 28-year old bagged 10 goals and 10 assists to his name in the recently concluded season in 47 games. Plying his trade as an attacking midfielder, Fekir has a dazzling left foot which makes him an asset to his team.

Fekir was previously linked with a move away to Liverpool in 2018 but that fell through. Looks like a move to Newcastle is also highly unlikely.
