Ferland Mendy looking for a move to join Arsenal this summer

Ferland Mendy could move to Arsenal this summer. Arsenal are looking for a left back as they look to sell Kieran Tierney. Ferland Mendy looks like a very good option at the moment. Arsenal aren’t short in the left back area at the moment but come the summer things could change.

Why Ferland Mendy to Arsenal could benefit both the parties?

Ferland Mendy joined Real Madrid from Olympique Lyon in 2019. He has now made 130 appearances in all competitions for Real Madrid, scoring five goals with 10 assists.

Mendy’s deal at Real Madrid is up in 2025, but his future is not yet decided as he’s been short of playing time this season. Mendy has made 25 appearances across all competitions, but he featured only in 15 of Real Madrid’s 27 league games after spending the last three months injured.

Eduardo Camavinga and David Alaba looke exceptionally good when they played left back. Mendy is not the preferred choice for Ancelotti now. He even played Nacho Fernandez there at left back. Mendy leaving is a real possibility this summer.

Tierney leaving opens space for Mendy

Tierney has played for Arsenal 29 times this season, scoring only one goal with two assists, but he’s started only 4 league games. He has been spending time on the bench regularly seeing his compatriots getting regular footballing action.

Tierney has been fit for most of the season but Arteta doesn’t prefer him anymore. Arteta prefers the Oleksander Zinchenko over him. Zinchenko plays the inverted left back role but Tierney playing in the inverted full-back role is not working for Arsenal.

Arteta will prefer players who play according to his demands and positions. However, Ferland Mendy is capable of the inverted role then he plays for Arsenal.
