Ferrari boss ‘feels the responsibility’ to deliver in 2023

Ferrari 2023

Frederic Vasseur talked about his “intense” start to life at Scuderia and the need for Ferrari to “deliver” in 2023.

During the winter break shakedown of different team principals and management staff, Fred Vasseur also left the Alfa Romeo side to replace Mattia Binotto in Ferrari. The new boss has brought new hopes for the 2023 title challenge. The fans are expecting better strategies and more reliability.

Ferrari launched their brand new 2023 title challenger from their headquarters at Maranello on Tuesday. During the event, Vasseur was asked how his time has gone so far with the Scuderia. To this the Frenchman replied:

“It’s intense, as you can imagine. You can feel the responsibility for the team; it’s a great honour.

“But at the end of the day, I think the most important is to be successful – we will have to deliver. I don’t want to be very happy because I am at Ferrari. The most important is to win and the challenge is in front of us.“

Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz got an initial feel of the 2023 car during a test run on Ferrari’s Fiorano test track before the pre-season testing starts.

Ferrari is aiming for a title this year to end their title drought which stretches since 2008. Ferrari last won the Drivers’ Championship back in 2007 and the last constructor title in the following season.

Vasseur insisted that both the drivers will get equal treatment and that Ferrari is the number one priority:

“Honestly, I don’t care [who is fastest]. The most important is to have Ferrari first – this is the target of all the team.

“For sure, we will push for both drivers in the same way. Let’s see what happens in Bahrain, but the most important is to put Ferrari first.”
