Filip Jorgensen could be out for Chelsea. The 22-year-old had to leave the field early while playing for Denmark U21. As per football.london, they were playing Iceland and the goalkeeper came down with an injury in the first half. Now, the seriousness of the issue is still not known. At the same time, whether or not he will be available for the Liverpool game is still questionable. The keeper made a move from Villareal this summer. The Blues had to pay a £20 million fee for him. Although, he is yet to make a Premier League appearance. But, at the same time, he has been a key player in Enzo Maresca’s B team.
Filip Jorgensen at Chelsea…
The 22-year-old came in as a new signing this summer. At the time of his arrival, the Blues had plenty of options to choose from between the sticks. But, Maresca wanted to play him. As a result, they created space in the lineup for the new keeper. So, Filip Jorgensen has now become a regular in UECL for the Blues. He has already gone on to make 3 appearances for them. At the same time, he has also enjoyed an EFL Cup outing for Chelsea. While he may not be a first-team player yet, but he is a solid #2 for the London side.
Huge problems for Chelsea
The game against Liverpool is not going to be easy by any regards. Arne Slot and his men currently sit on top of the league table. Meanwhile, Chelsea have already many absentees to deal with. Marc Cucurella and Wesley Fofana will be out after picking up 5-yellow cards each. Now, even Filip Jorgensen could be out. To make matters worse, they will be playing away to Liverpool. So, the Blues will need a miracle to come up with a win against the Reds.
