Firmino return: Current situation of the potential Liverpool transfer rumours

Ex-Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino may return to Merseyside this winter as per rumours. There is now a fresh report about the situation of Firmino and Liverpool. The Brazilian left the Merseyside club during the summer for Saudi Arabia. However, things are not going as per the plan and he reportedly wants a move away from Middle East. Moreover, clubs like Chelsea and Fulham are also speculating his transfer. However, according to Ben Jacobs, there isn’t much to the idea of Firmino coming back to Anfield.

Speaking on The Done Deal show, Jacobs says that sources at Liverpool are downplaying the idea of Firmino making a remarkable return. He told,

In terms of Chelsea and other clubs have been linked, no direct approach at this stage, but Firmino is being offered around. Another club to look out for is Fulham, and Sheffield United have actually enquired. A return to Liverpool is being downplayed by sources, and there’s also interest from Italy and Turkey as well.

Liverpool signing their legend back does not seem to be a bad idea though. He is a fine favourite at Anfield and scored 10 goals last season as well. For all of the Reds’ firepower, there are games where they need something different. We saw how they were unable to unlock the defence against Manchester United. A player of Bobby’s calibre may have proved to be decisive in those situations. With Salah sustaining a potential hamstring injury at AFCON, he can be a great edition to bolster the options. This wouldn’t be the worst idea the Reds have ever had, that’s for sure. Jurgen Klopp is on the course of another title charge this season and Firmino’s experience can be key. Be sure to be updated.
