Pep Guardiola is in a hunt for a record fourth consecutive Premier League title with Manchester City this season. However, there maybe five clubs in the Premier League title glory chase according to Pep. The Sky Blues are currently sitting second to Liverpool, who are five points clear but with one game more. The Reds will also bein a greater push for the glory in order to bid a farewell to their boss Jurgen Klopp.
Although the club was facing a lot of injuries in the first-half of season, everyone is almost back on field now. This is a giant booster for the club management and staff in their hunt. Though, it does not seem to be a three-horse race involving City, Liverpool and Arsenal. Other clubs like Tottenham and Aston Villa are also believed to present a title charge to the defending champions.
Speaking to the press after the win over Burnley this week, Pep says that there can be other clubs as well in the charge other than Liverpool and Arsenal.
“I think it’s not just three. I don’t know who they are but Tottenham is still there, and Aston Villa is still there. It can change I think. My feeling when I see Arsenal playing is they control many aspects of the game, when you see Liverpool it’s quite similar also. When you see the games, every game they are better than the opponent.
You can lose games, yeah, of course. But in terms of (the performance), they are better. And I know how strong they are but still we are there, and we want to continue.”
A brace from Julian Alvarez and a late finish from Rodri gave the Cityzens a comfortable victory over Kompany’s side. They will now be facing Brentford which is going to be another tough challenge for the travelling fans.
