Ford Red bull tie up rumors get a boost after latest comments

Ferrari 2023

Rumors indicating a possible Ford and Red bull tie-up in Formula 1 are gaining ground.

Ford left Formula 1 back in 2004 after withdrawing from the sport along with the Jaguar team. However, speculations around the American manufacturer returning to the sport are increasing.

It is believed that Ford Motorsports are in advanced talks with Red bull racing F1. The iconic manufacturer is looking to get a partnership with the Milton Keynes based side to get the Ford badge on the power units. This is aimed for the new regulations coming into play in 2026.

Although there is no official statement from both sides yet, recent comments from Ford Performance boss Mark Rushbrook indicate otherwise. The American praised how F1 is gaining an audience in America through Netflix’s drive to survive.

“Formula 1 is strong and growing, both in the United States and worldwide,”

Rushbrook said in an interview.

“They have great races, a great competition and they have managed to reach new target groups with things like Drive to Survive.”

When asked about the red bull rumors, Rushbrook didn’t brush them off:

“We do not comment on speculation, but this is the case with all series that exist,”

he mentioned.

“It is our responsibility to study and understand them, and then decide whether it makes sense or not.”

Ironically, Ford motorsports’ last adventure in F1 ended in 2004 with team selling out to red bull only. It is also not the first time that red bull is in talks with another manufacturer. Earlier, the side was in talks with Porsche for 2026. However, the deal didn’t reach any conclusion.
