Former England youth international Jamal Musiala has been in stellar form for Germany at the EURO 2024. The 21-year old was impressive with Bayern Munich at the club level too. Subsequently, Musiala has managed to carry on his good form with Bayern as he continues to shine for Germany.

Musiala has been an absolute revelation ever since joining Bayern Munich. The 21-year old midfielder bagged 12 goals for Bayern this season. Moreover, he would also provide 8 assists concluding the season with an amazing 20 G/A.

Furthermore, Musiala would also score the crucial Bundesliga clinching goal against Koln on the final matchday in 2023. His dribbling abilities and and understanding of the game makes him so elusive to the opposition defenders. He is a constant menace to the opposition defense always looking to find space and break through.

The attacking midfielder has already managed scoring 43 goals in 163 appearances for the Bavarians. Additionally, coupled with his 31 assists, Musiala has an impressive 74 G/A for Bayern till date. Considering he is merely 21, the German midfielder is tipped for greatness. Especially, if he keeps delivering the same level of performances.

Many top clubs are already monitoring Musiala. However, Vincent Kompany’s Bayern will be trying to keep their top talent at the Allianz Arena.

England ‘missing’ Jamal Masiala?

Jamal Musiala was born in Stuttgart to a German-Polish mother and a Nigerian-British father. After turning 7, Jamal Musiala would move to England alongside his parents.

Musiala began his youth player career in England at Southampton’s academy. He would spend a year with the Saints. Thereafter, he would join Chelsea’s youth academy in 2010. The 21-year old would impress with his gameplay and rise through the ranks with England’s youth teams.

Followingly, he would join Bayern’s academy in 2019. However, he would feature for the England youth squad until 2020. Subsequently, Musiala decided to feature for Germany instead. Since then, he has already won 33 caps for the Germany’s first team scoring 8 goals!

Given England’s constant struggles and Musiala’s rise, it seems that the Three Lions have ‘missed out’ on the youngster. Many fans believe that England should have kept Jamal Musiala.

21-year old shines, The Three Lions struggle!

The 21-year old has been brilliant for the Germans at the EUROs so far. Musiala has already scored 3 vital goals under Julian Nagelsmann and currently sits at the top of the scoring charts at the tournament.

He would score in Germany’s record breaking 5-1 victory in the opener against Scotland. Subsequently, he would find the net in the following Group stage game against Hungary. Henceforth, Germany would secure a place in the knockout rounds.

Thereafter, Musiala would also go on to score in the Round of 16 against Denmark setting up a mouthwatering Quarter Final fixture against Spain. With this goal, the 21-year old became the first German player in a decade to score 3 goals at a major international tournament.

However, Musiala’s former side England find themselves in a tough spot. The Three Lions were impressive in the previous edition of EUROs losing out narrowly against Italy in the final. Although, things haven’t been the same for them this tournament.

Despite having one of the best squads on paper, England have struggled massively. They would secure a place in the knockout rounds by winning their group. But, not the way they would have fancied. The Three Lions are unbeaten and resolute at the back. Although, they have failed to produce the goods in attack. England merely scored twice in the group stages securing a win and two draws.

Moreover, they were so close to losing against Slovakia in the last 16. However, the Three Lions would find a place in the last 8 after an extra time win! England have just not been convincing. Undoubtedly, they house some of the best players in world football. But, they need to find a better setup for sustained success.
