Former Premier league star slams youngster for joining Chelsea

Jadon Sancho has signed for Chelsea on loan with an option to buy, just before the transfer market deadline. This move has left former Arsenal and Chelsea legend, Emmanuel Petit, quite stunned.

Sancho had some beef with the Man United manager, Erik Ten Hag, since last year. He was banished by the Dutchman and was told to find a new club for himself. The manager felt that the youngster would struggle to get minutes as he prefers Garnacho and Amad Diallo over him.

However, like many other surprised football fans, Petit feels that it’s a “huge mistake” joining a fully packed Blues’ squad. The 24-year old wants to redeem himself, but he has just made it more difficult for himself. He has to compete with the likes of Joao Felix, Pedro Neto and Mudryk, who are exceptionally talented. He has to prove his mettle to the manager to cement regular minutes at Stamford bridge.

Speaking to Bet Victor, Petit says;

“When I saw they had signed Jadon Sancho on Deadline Day, I wondered if there was even any shirt numbers left for him.”

“Imagine him opening the door to the dressing room and seeing so many players they don’t all fit in the same dressing room! At the training ground they must have two dressing rooms, three pitches and 12 physios.”

Playing for the Chelsea badge or the bag?

Petit had slammed Chelsea and their recruitment tactics before, but he has also questioned the mindset of Jadon Sancho. The former midfielder feels that after what he went through at United, it is extremely foolish for him to join a club with similar scenario.

Both United and Chelsea are a complete mess right now, fans have seen bright talents ruin themselves after joining these historic clubs.

The former France and Arsenal midfielder has assured the fans that, Sancho will be a flop at Chelsea unless something magical takes place.

He feels that the 24-year winger has joined the Blues’ just for the bag of cash. If he had any intention to redeem his topsy-turvy career he would have joined a club where he is valued. Connor Gallagher did the smart thing joining Atletico Madrid and now, he is thriving under Diego Someone.

Emmanuel Petit has slammed the Englishman for showing lack of discipline and mentality. His confidence will go down again, if this move fails as well.

Petit says;

“The club are not the only ones responsible for the situation. It also comes down to the players. How can Sancho bring himself to sign for Chelsea after what happened at Manchester United? He was loaned to Borussia Dortmund, then went back to United, and now he’s off to Chelsea who have 40 or so players and he is just one of them.”

“Hasn’t he had enough of moving around clubs, losing his way on the pitch and losing his confidence? Now he’s at a club that has no consistency, lacking in confidence and results. If he’s not there for the money, what is he there for?”

Legendary Premier league manager criticises Erik Ten Hag for not backing Sancho

Former Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund boss, Jurgen Klopp, has slammed Erik Ten Hag for not backing Jadon Sancho. He is saddened to see how the young lad was treated by the Dutchman at Old Trafford.

Klopp feels that the manager should always stand by his unit and try to help them as much as possible instead of labelling them “useless”.

The 24-year old had a successful loan spell at Dortmund last year, he helped the German giants reach the final of the Champions league. Many clubs were scouting the youngster during that time but his high wages prompted them to cancel their pursuit.

Jurgen Klopp feels that the club should have supported him in such times but they kicked him out instead. Speaking in an interview, he says;

“If the whole world loses trust and faith in the player, the manager has to be the one behind the player. I cannot just buy into that ‘he’s useless,’ like other clubs did by the way – buying a player for £80 million and then sending him out on loan!”

The 24-year old has not featured in the Three Lions’ squad since the Euros 2020. He is keen on reviving his career at the club of his dreams.
