Fans show their disagreement as Sanju Samson was left out of the playing 11 yet again. The management did not play Sanju Samson in any of the 3 T20Is played against New Zealand.
Post the World Cup, many senior players including Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Ravi Ashwin, and Dinesh Karthik were rested as a part of workload management. So it was expected that Sanju Samson would feature in at least one if not all the matches.
India opened with Ishan Kishan and Rishabh Pant while also playing Shreyas Iyer and Deepak Hooda in the middle order. Rishabh Pant failed in all the matches as he could not get going and kept playing too many dot balls.
After winning the second T20 without the threat of losing the series, it was expected that India would make some changes in their batting lineup. But Sanju Samson was still not given a chance.
What did the Angry fans say?
With the team in transition, it was expected that the management would back fearless players who could be explosive. But the management is still not proactive and is repeating the same mistakes as the previous World Cups, the fans tweeted on social media. Fans also felt that if the management is not playing Sanju Samson, at least let him play in the other leagues.
Fans lashed out at the management as players like Pant, Kishan, and Harshal Patel kept getting chances despite their constant failures.
India won the three-match series 1-0 as the third T20 tied as India’s score was the same as the DL score. Suryakumar Yadav was adjudged as the man of the series.
