Recently Capitals were the owner of the new Ahmedabad franchise. However, CVC at present will come under scrutiny after complaints that they are involved with some betting companies. The Board of Course for Cricket in India (BCCI) was informed about this so they decided to investigate the matter.
The IPL governing council will on the 3rd of December decide on the future of the new owners of the Ahmedabad franchise at Kolkata.
CVC Capitals were given the Ahmedabad franchise after their successful bid to acquire a team in IPL. However, reports have emerged that CVC has links with some betting companies which might put CVC under a lot of trouble.
The Ahmedabad franchise was brought by CVC Capitals for 5600 crores. They have been working on recruiting their backroom staff and wherein contact with former Indian coach Ravi Shastri.
Future of CVC Capitals to be decided
The governing council will hold a meeting about the matter. The meeting will take place only one day before the Annual meeting where a new Governing Council will be created.
Brijesh Patel and Khairul Jamal Majumdar might be re-elected in IPL governing council.
Reports are coming out that Brijesh Patel and Khairul Jamal Majumdar will be re-elected as the governing body in the annual meeting. Brijesh Patel is from Karnataka meanwhile Khairul Jamal Majumdar is from the northeast.
A total of seven members are in the governing council of the IPL. The members consist of two office bearers who are secretary and treasurer Jay Shah and Arun Singh Dhumal, CEO Hemang Amin, a representative from the players association in form of Pragyan Ojha, CM Sane a nominee of the CAG, and the two elected by AGM Brijesh and Majumdar.
Players Retention for IPL
On 30th November all the previous eight franchises of the IPL have submitted the retention list.
The defending champions Chennai Super Kings have retained Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and English all-rounder Moeen Ali.
Meanwhile, the last IPL runner’s up Kolkata Knight Riders have Retained West Indies pair of Andrew Russell and Sunil Naraine, Venkatesh Iyer and Subham Gill.
Delhi Capitals have retained Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant, Prithvi Shaw, Axar Patel, and South African fast bowler Anrich Nortje.
Mumbai Indians most successful team of IPL have retained Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Jaspreet Bumrah, and veteran West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard.
Royal Challengers Bangalore have retained Indian skipper Virat Kohli, Glen Maxwell, and Mohammed Siraj.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals have retained their captain Sanju Samson, English wicketkeeper Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal.
Sunrisers Hyderabad haven retained captain Kane Williamson, Abdul Samad, and Umran Mallik.
The kings of Punjab kept hold of Mayank Agarwal, Shahrukh Khan, Arshdeep Singh.
