Gabriel Jesus would prefer a move to Real Madrid over Arsenal

Manchester forward Gabriel Jesus would reportedly prefer to join Real Madrid over Arsenal this summer.

The 25-year-old forward has been linked with a move away from Manchester City. The links intensified after City confirmed the signings of Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez. Arsenal are the frontrunners to sign the Brazilian this summer. This comes after Arsenal let Aubameyang go to Barca and Alexandre Lacazette on a free transfer this summer. So it seems like Arsenal desperately needs one forward. Reports are claiming the Gunners are prepared to offer the Brazilian forward £190,000 per week to make their star forward. That is double the wages he is paid at Manchester City.

However, the stories by Spanish outlets are giving an entirely different story. Spanish news outlet La Cadena has claimed Jesus would prefer to make a switch to the Champions League winners rather than joining Mikel Arteta’s side. Manchester City have offered the chance of signing Gabriel Jesus to many top clubs. One of the top clubs to be offered the Brazilian forward is Real Madrid. It seems the Los Blancos side are interested in bringing the forward to Spain after missing out on Kylian Mbappe. However, the report adds that the La Liga champions would not be able to sign Jesus until his national teammate Vinicius Jr is granted a Spanish passport as the Los Blancos currently have the maximum number of Non-European players in the first-team squad.

Real Madrid, if they sign they finally might have someone who can play down the middle other than Benzema. Jesus though has no shortage of options. London duo Chelsea and Tottenham are also interested in the forward. Jesus has only a year remaining on his contract and is valued at £43 million by Manchester City.
