Arsenal‘s Gabriel Martinelli suffered a hamstring injury in the Carabao Cup. It is now causing problems for Arteta.
GABRIEL MARTINELLI: INJURY CONCERNS
Manager Mikel Arteta confirmed the severity of Martinelli’s injury. It can be said that he is reported to be out for a month.
With key attackers missing, Arteta is missing out on a lot of the team. Bukayo Saka is out for March due to his hamstring injury. So, Gabriel Jesus is out for the remainder of the season due to an ACL injury.
These leave Arteta with limited options up front. Thus, Kai Havertz, Leandro Trossard, Raheem Sterling, and Ethan Nwaneri led the attack. The manager will have to make changes.
Now Martinelli has also suffered a hamstring injury before the upcoming fixtures. He is set to miss Premier League matches against Leicester City, West Ham, and Forest.
Even he might miss the Champions League round of 16 round. But, there is hope. He might still return to play against Manchester United. So, Arteta needs a new team to emphasize the attacking lineup.
Arsenal’s failure to secure any attackers during the January transfer window has caused controversies. A bid for Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins was reportedly rejected. So, no new signings were made, leaving the squad thin in attacking depth.
Arteta expressed his disappointment, emphasizing the club’s intention to strengthen the squad but acknowledging the challenges in securing the right players.
AUTHOR’S OPINION
Arsenal is keen on their reinforcement. He aims to regroup and address the mounting challenges. The focus is entirely on the fitness levels of the player.
The Gunners are currently six points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool. Thus, intensifying the pressure to perform despite the injury setbacks. They have to make sure that injuries do not make it more problematic.
The Gunners now want a good signing.
