Gareth Southgate has advised Borussia Dortmund star, Jude Bellingham. Southgate has reportedly told the Dortmund star to make a move towards the Premier League.

Jude Bellingham arrived at Dortmund from Birmingham City in 2020. In the last 2 seasons, he has managed to impress one and all. The 18-year-old made his debut for Birmingham City as a 16-year-old and broke several records. He made his international debut in 2020 as well. Ever Since his international debut, he has been a constant presence in the squad and has managed to showcase his exquisite footwork.

Dortmund have struggled all season. Having been Knocked out of the Champions League and the Title race, Dortmund have been in a constant state of despair. The only shining light has been Bellingham’s form.

Southgate on Bellingham

England manager Gareth Southgate is very fond of the youngster and had a lot to say about him. He believes that Bellingham needs to make a debut to the Premier League to challenge himself and gain proper experience. He says mostly it is because English teams have been reaching further into the Champions League than other teams. The Englishman was also critical of Bellingham’s playing positions at Dortmund.

“The league is definitely a brilliant league for young players and coaches to develop but of course the standard of the Premier League is undoubtedly higher, I think we see that in the European competitions.

Our top teams are going to be right at the end of the Champions League every year, the financial power of our league is blowing everyone else out of the water so our big teams are going to be the main players in those competitions as they have been in the last years really.

Dortmund have played 3-4-3 where he has been one of the double pivots, 4-3-3 where he plays as one of the 8s and a diamond where he has played on the outside of a diamond. He has different tactical challenges to deal with. The team have been a bit inconsistent”
