Gareth Southgate leave Marc Guehi out of England’s squad for the 2022 World Cup

Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi has been left out of England’s squad going for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Guehi has been impressive at Crystal Palace after joining them from Chelsea last season. He was expected to make it into the squad but it now seems he will not be going to Qatar with Gareth Southgate’s squad.

Crystal Palace coach Patrick Vierra has spoken about Guehi not being selected for World Cup.

“It’s a good time for a break!”

He said talking in a press conference, he said his side will have a chance to “recharge” during World Cup. He also admits that he’s spoken to “dissappointed” Marc Guehi after he missed out England squad.

The England squad was unveiled on Thursday, Southgate has selected a blend of younger and experienced players. There are 13 players in the squad who will be heading to their first world cup.
