India have just recently finished off their home series against South Africa.
The hosts did not have a great start as they lost the first game itself at Delhi to the Proteas.
However, India bounced back in the series in the 3rd and 4th T20Is and were all set to win the trophy in Bengaluru.
Unfortunately, rain played a complete spoilsport and allowed only 3 overs to be played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The series eventually ended in a 2-2 draw between India and South Africa.
The Indian T20I side has already left for Ireland where they will be playing 2 T20Is in Dublin.
Recently, former India opener Gautam Gambhir selected his ideal playing XI for India.
This playing XI is for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup in Australia.
Gautam Gambhir’s Playing XI for the ICC T20 World Cup:
Rohit Sharma (c), Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul (wk), Hardik Pandya, Deepak Hooda, Harshal Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah.
There are a couple of surprises in Gambhir’s playing XI.
Gambhir has decided to do away with Rishabh Pant and instead wants KL Rahul to don the wicket-keeping gloves.
Additionally, he has picked Bhuvneshwar Kumar who didn’t have a great outing in this year’s IPL.
Even the Indian team management should be giving more chances to upcoming young pacers such as Umran Malik and Arshdeep Singh who did well in this year’s IPL.
