Shubhman Gill has been at the top for quite a few months now. He played his best innings in IPL earlier. Furthermore, continued their performance on the West Indies tour as well. Although even after being in great form Gill couldn’t complete his century. Gill in the last match of the ODI series made 98*, he looked amazing but rain played a spoilsport.

However, now on Monday during the 3rd ODI against Zimbabwe, Gill made his maiden century in One day international. It was the contribution of Gill that landed India in a safe position. Which eventually turned out to be enough total for winning the match. Gill is shining brightly these days, it is very clear that this brightness is not ignored by BCCI as well. Gill was awarded player of the series in the contest against West Indies in their backyard.

India’s help to get a fighting total

The amazing batter was just 2 runs away from getting his first 100 in the west indies tour itself. The star batter didn’t look back to the West Indies’ heartbreak where rain played a spoilsport there. On Monday, Gill was in fine touch since he arrived on the field during the 15th over of the match. Gill came out to bat after the dismissal of the skipper Kl Rahul got out with the score at 63. Soon after the dismissal of the skipper, Shikhar Dhawan followed him and the scoreboard pointed at 84-2.

Afterward, Gill got a very reliable partner in form of Ishan Kishan. Both of them made an amazing partnership and took the team from a very tough situation to a peaceful total. Kishan smashed a very easy 50 against the Zimbabwe bowling lineup. However, Kishan got out on an unfortunate run-out. However, Shubhman Gill continued to play the strokes and made a final score of 130.
