Graeme Souness deems Chelsea summer signing as a ‘failure’

Chelsea were very active in the summer transfer window again. They did some brilliant business too. Jadon Sancho joined from Man Utd. The winger enjoyed a great last season with Dortmund. His falling out with Erik Ten Hag made him move to Germany again. He would help Dortmund to UCL final against Real Madrid. But, they ended up on the losing side. Nonetheless, the Englishman did enough to impress the world. As a result, Ten Hag would include him back in the lineup this season. He even went on to feature in the pre-season. But, the Red Devils would let him go in the ending days of the transfer window.

A look at Jadon Sancho at Chelsea

The 24-year-old could never really perform with Man Utd. As per transfermarkt, he managed to secure only 18 G/A for the Red Devils. Out of which, he only did provide 6 assists. Meanwhile, he has already made 3 assists for the Blues. Jadon Sancho was off to a very promising start to life at Chelsea. Although he still hasn’t been as effective as he could be. Enzo Maresca is backing the winger. He also has a lot of gametime. In fact, he is a regular in the starting XI for Mykhailo Mudryk.

Graeme Souness unconvinced

Former Scottish Player and TV Pundit Graeme Souness recently talked about the winger’s time at Chelsea. As per metro, he would go on to suggest that Jadon Sancho was still unconvincing for the Blues. Firstly, the English winger did enjoy a positive start with the club. Although his performance against Liverpool was nothing to be proud of. But he can’t have all good games. The problem is that we all know what the 24-year-old is capable of. He has set the standards high for himself. So he will have to up his game for sure.
