Guardiola gives Nathan Ake injury update ahead of Arsenal clash

Man City boss Pep Guardiola confirms he does not know the extent Nathan Ake’s injury ahead of Arsenal clash.

Guardiola’s side takes on the Gunners in a heavyweight clash and this match will decide the Premier League title this season. Arsenal are four points ahead of Manchester City in the League Table.

Manchester City are in terrific form and also have a game in hand over Arteta’s side. On the other hand, Arsenal have dropped points in last two matches in Premier League.

However, Guardiola gave update about the fitness of City’s inform centre-back Nathan Ake. The 28-year-old has been a key figure in his team’s recent sucess, starting 10 out of 12 matches.

Ake made his return to the team against Bayern Munich in Champions League on Wednesday. But the defender was unable to complete full 90mins at the Allianz Arena due to a calf injury. The club in now waiting to see the reports to reveal how long he will be out of action.

On Friday, Guardiola confirmed that he doesn’t know about the Ake’s current situation. The Man City manager said in his press-conference:-

“I don’t know. He’s not ready for tomorrow but I don’t know the damage. I think this afternoon they will do the final test to see exactly what he has.”

However, Guardiola gave update about Phil Foden, who recently suffered from acute appendicitis problems. He said :-

“He was on the bench in Munich after two days training following two, three weeks without training. Every day that passes he’ll be better.”
