Hakim Ziyech Linked With Shock Manchester United Switch

Moroccan International Hakim Ziyech could leave Chelsea for Manchester United, according to Sport Bible.

The Chelsea winger has had limited minutes this season, with Thomas Tuchel favouring Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic more. He came on in the eighty-fifth minute in the FA Cup final and struggled to make any impact. A talented winger for sure, he would be exploring his options for more regular game time.

One of those options is a reunion with former boss Erik Ten Hag. Ziyech played under the Dutch tactician at Ajax, where he was a key member of the squad. The pair made it to the semi-final of the Champions League together in the historic 2018/19 season. Since then, a 40 million pound move to Chelsea has not gone exactly to plan.

Ziyech would be a signing that fits Manchester United. With Mata, Lingard and Martial leaving, and Rashford dropping in form, creative reinforcements are needed at Carrington. Former striker van Basten has urged Ziyech to consider the move. Speaking on Ziggo Sport, he said:

“Ziyech who already plays in England could be a very good footballer at Manchester United for Erik

Ziyech’s Future

Hakim Ziyech is a supremely talented footballer. He was one of the most exciting prospects of Ajax’s magical run in the UCL. It is rather sad to see him on the bench most days now. A move elsewhere, where he could be the star of the show could help reinvigorate his career. Chelsea, who perhaps overpaid for the winger can also recover some of the fees and use it for strengthening their squad which is going to lose up to three defenders in the summer.

The signing of Ziyech is a difficult prospect for Manchester United. Should they pull it off though, it would elevate their attack up a notch. Erik Ten Hag knows how to get the best out of him, and this would be a transfer to keep an eye on.
